REQUIREMENTS
  OpenOffice.org version 3.0 or later, which includes Java version 1.6
  OR
  StarOffice 8.0

Please contact Agnisys for Word and FrameMaker based plugins.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download and install OpenOffice from http://download.openoffice.org/index.html 
     OR
   Download and install StarOffice from http://www.sun.com/software/staroffice/

2. Get IDesignSpec plugin from the site :
   http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/idesignspec
   OR
   http://www.agnisys.us/product/release/idesignspec/IDesignSpec_x.y.z.oxt

3. Install IDesignSpec plugin
   Either double-click the downloaded .oxt file
   OR
   3.a Start Writer
   3.b Click on Tools->Extension Manager... , Click on Add..., 
       Choose IDesignSpec_x.y.z.oxt in this directory,  
       Click on Open, read and Accept the license agreement, Close the Window.
   3.c Exit Writer and start it again. 

   Once the plugin is installed you should see a new Menu under "IDesignSpec". 

4. Get IDesignSpec License.
   If you haven't already received a license file with IDesignSpec follow the
   instructions below ...

   From the IDesignSpec menu, select Registration. In the pop-up window, you
   would find an ID for the machine called the UUID. 
   Send that to support@agnisys.us. 
   
   When you receive the license file, save it to a directory. 
   Set the environment variable 'AGNI_LICENSE_FILE' to point to the license file
   you just saved.

   Follow the following directions to set an environment variable :
   On Windows : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310519 

   Unix Bourne Shell : Add to ~/.bash_profile file
       export AGNI_LICENSE_FILE=path_to_license_file

   Unix CShell Shell : Add to ~/.cshrc file
       setenv AGNI_LICENSE_FILE path_to_license_file
       
5. Platform specific startup instructions
   Windows
     Nothing special for Windows.

   Unix, Linux, Solaris
     Bourne Shell : Add to ~/.bash_profile file
       export SAL_NO_XINITTHREADS=true
       export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen

     CShell : Add to ~/.cshrc file
       setenv SAL_NO_XINITTHREADS true
       setenv SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN gen

     Failure to do this may result in pop-up window freezes.

6. Start using IDesignSpec. You may have to log out and log back in for
   changes to take effect.
   
   Refer to the following documents for more details select 
   IDesignSpec->"Quick Start Guide" from the Writer menu.
